STAPLETON — Six suspected gang members from Staten Island were arrested for stabbing a man several times, puncturing his lung, after he stepped in to break up a fight last month, sources said.

Charleston Forkpa, 18, Solomon Tarr, 20, Harold Hansen, 20, and Blount Davell, 19, were arrested on Oct. 1 for the stabbing, prosecutors said. On Monday, Chernor Bah, 19, was picked up for the crime and Lasou Kuyateh, 17, was arrested for the crime.

Forkpa, Tarr, Hansen, Davell and Bah are all reputed members of the OTA gang, which stands for Only the Africans, prosecutors said. It was unclear if Kuyateh was affiliated with the OTA at the time, sources said.

The incident began at 8 p.m. on Sept. 28, when one of the suspects got into a fight in front of 470 Vanderbilt Ave. with another person.

The 29-year-old stabbing victim, whose name was not released, stepped in to help when the five other suspects joined the fight, knocking the victim to the ground where they repeatedly punched, kicked and stabbed him, sources said.

The victim was taken to Staten Island University Hospital North with a punctured lung and nine stab wounds to the back and was recovering from surgery, sources said.

Forkpa, Tarr, Hansen, Davell, Bah and Kuyateh were charged with attempted murder, gang assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.
