EAST WILLIAMSBURG — A man was robbed at gunpoint by a mugger who asked him for the time before rifling through his pockets, police said.

The victim, 39, was leaving a store on Bushwick Avenue near Varet Street on Friday, Oct. 2, around 9:50 p.m. when he walked past a group of men, police said.

One of the men in the group approached him and said, "You know what time it is?" police said.

He then held a silver firearm to the victim's waist and demanded his property, police said.

The victim handed over some cash, and the man went through the victim's pockets and took out more money, ultimately snatching $97, police said.

The victim then ran home, police said.

The suspect was described as about 25 years old, standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 170 pounds.

No one has been arrested for the incident.
