BROOKLYN — Police released photos and video of two men they wanted to question in connection to an East Williamsburg shooting that killed a metal worker and wounded a 13-year-old girl on her way to school.

The men were not immediately described as suspects.

One, who can be seen in footage entering a store, wore a hoodie covered in colorful patterns.

The other wore a large light-colored hoodie.

On Tuesday, three men tried to break into a van at Knickerbocker Avenue and Grattan Street about 7:50 a.m. when nearby metal workers Michael Matusiak and Derrick Robinson spotted them, officials said.

"They realized we were watching them and they took off," Robinson told DNAinfo from his hospital bed.

Robinson and Matusiak, who only started working at the metal shop Monday morning, chased the men, who opened fire, police said.

Matusiak was killed.

Bullets grazed Robinson's ear and torso. He was treated at Elmhurst Hospital.

A 13-year-old girl, who was not named but who had been passing by on her way to school, was hit in the hip during the incident, police said. She was also treated at Elmhurst.

The three suspects fled the scene after the gunfire and remained at large Wednesday.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
