CHELSEA — A man punched his female acquaintance in the face, knocking her to the ground, then dragged her across the street by her ankle near the corner of 19th Street and Tenth Avenue, police said.
Upper East Side resident David Daoud, 28, was arrested shortly after the incident that took place on Sept. 25 just before midnight, according to police.
The 29-year-old victim was Daoud's friend, police said, though they did not have any further information about the pair's relationship.
Daoud's was arraigned on Sept. 26 and a judge set bail at $500 cash and issued an order of protection. He is currently being held at Manhattan Detention Complex.
Daoud's lawyer did not return an immediate request for comment.
