WILLIAMSBURG — Party at your own risk.

Over the past week and a half, thieves have swiped computers, cameras and cash from four Williamsburg apartments in buildings where residents were hosting rooftop and house parties, police said.

The stolen items include a $1,500 camera, several MacBook Pros and credit cards, police said.

Two apartments at the corner of Maujer and Leonard streets were burglarized as a party filled the hallways and rooftop on Saturday, Sept. 26, according to police reports.

A 25-year-old man who lives in the apartment where the bash took place told police he left about 3 a.m. Sunday to get some sleep at his parent's house, but his roommates continued to party.

When he returned, his MacBook Pro was missing, police said.

A trio of 23-year-old women living in a separate apartment on the same floor also reported that property went missing that night.

They told police they went to bed around 9:30 p.m. while many people were still hanging out in the hallway and on rooftop patios.

When they awoke Sunday morning, one woman said she noticed her side patio door was open and more than $2,300 worth of property was missing, including two MacBook Pros, credit cards and a $20 bill, police said.

That same day, at a rooftop party on Driggs Avenue at Grand Street, a man who was hanging out and chatting with friends ended up losing his camera, police said.

The 28-year-old said he was at the Saturday party from 12:45 p.m. until 1:15 a.m., police said.

He left his Canon camera, worth about $1,500, unattended, and found it was gone when he went to find it, police said.

A week earlier, a 22-year-old woman reported her backpack stolen at a party on Orient Avenue near Olive Street, police said.

She told police she put her backpack in a room while at a party on Saturday, Sept. 19, about 11 p.m., police said.

When she returned about an hour later, the backpack — along with several credit cards and a Social Security card — was missing, police said.

Police are investigating the incidents.
