SOUTH STREET SEAPORT — A tasty way to support local public elementary schools — while also celebrating Downtown restaurants — is returning to South Street Seaport next month.

Tickets are on sale now for the 6th annual Taste of the Seaport — an outdoor food festival that raises money for the Spruce Street School as well as the Peck Slip School, an elementary school that relocated this fall to its new Seaport home, with yummy bites from more than 40 local eateries.

The daylong festival, scheduled for Oct. 17, offers “tastes” from local restaurants that donate their time — and food — for the al fresco event along Front Street between Peck Slip and Beekman Street.

Restaurants participating this year include local favorites Barbalu, Nelson Blue and Fresh Salt.

The festival also includes live music and family friendly activities.

All the proceeds will support the Spruce Street School's and Peck Slip School's music, art and physical education programs.

The Taste of the Seaport will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Front Street, between Peck Slip and Beekman Street. Advanced tickets can be purchased here for the Oct. 17 event. Tickets are $35 for five tastes or $120 for a family pack of 20 tastes. Day-of tickets are $40 or $125.
