EAST VILLAGE — Low-cost gym chain Blink Fitness is coming to the East Village, the company announced Thursday.
Blink Fitness signed a lease for 98 Avenue A on Sept. 17, according to a spokeswoman. The chain plans to open a “spacious, colorful and bright” location next winter, it said in a press release. Memberships at the new 12,000-square-foot facility will start at $25 per month.
Additional details about the new facility were not immediately available.
The East Village location will be the company’s 11th in Manhattan, it said. The chain also has locations in Queens, Brooklyn and The Bronx, according to its website.
“With limited existing local gym options, we are excited to bring our exceptional value and extraordinarily friendly member experience to the residents of the East Village,” said Bill Miller, the company’s vice president of real estate, in a statement.
