HELLS KITCHEN — The city is currently accepting applications for the 62 new affordable apartments in a West 43rd Street development.
Paperwork is due by Nov. 10.
For half of the units, located at 535 W. 43rd St., preference will be given to people who already live in Community Board 4.
Studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments are up for rent for households making between $29,932 and $69,050 a year.
There are 23 studio apartments, most of them for people earning between $29,932 - $36,300 annually for a price $833 a month.
Another 23 are one bedrooms that will rent at $895 a month for single tenants who earn between $32,092- $36,300 or two people with a combined income of between $32,092 - $41,460.
Lastly, 13 two-bedroom apartments are available for families earning between $38,538 and $69,050 depending on the number of members. They'll rent at two rates - $1082 and $1458 - depending on the family's income.
A common courtyard is open for free to residents, but tenants will have to pay for access to the rooftop garden, the screening room and the game room.
Developers Douglas Elliman did not return a request to clarify pricing.
The building also has a 44th Street address and there are a total of 280 units. And the 62 subsidized units will be permanently affordable, according to the Department of Housing Preservation and Development.
It's not clear exactly when the units will become available, though the building's website states that they are leasing this fall and that the location will be "more than an address."
More information about the 43rd Street development is available here and you can visit the city's affordable housing network for instructions on how to apply.
