KINGSBRIDGE — A 23-year-old man who asked his cabdriver to pull over because he was about to be sick after a night of drinking was hit and killed after stumbling into the path of an MTA bus, according to the NYPD.

The man, whose identity was not released, was riding in the back of a livery cab a little after 2:30 a.m. Friday when he asked the driver to pull over at West 231st Street and Kingsbridge Avenue so he could vomit, an NYPD spokesman said.

He then got out of the cab and started to throw up, police said.

An oncoming MTA bus driver saw him and swerved to avoid him, but the man stumbled into the path of the bus and was hit, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both the livery and bus drivers remained on the scene and neither was initially charged.

The investigation is ongoing.
