MANHATTAN — Westside commuters, make alternative plans. The MTA plans to suspend the entire 1 train line this weekend, but there will be shuttle buses available.
The shut down will go into effect from 11:30 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday, as the MTA does maintenance work at multiple locations along the line, the agency said in a statement Thursday.
Alternatively, commuters can take the 2 and 3 trains, which will be making local stop during that time.
Free shuttle buses will be available at all stops south of Chambers Street and north of 96th Street, making stops along the 1 line.
"We understand that these service disruptions are inconvenient to the customers," MTA said in the statement. "This work is being performed simultaneously during the weekend when ridership is lowest to reduce the impact to our customers."
