BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A man caught jumping a turnstile was arrested early Sunday after officers found him packing a gun, police said.

Plainclothes officers on patrol at the Nostrand Avenue subway station in Bedford-Stuyvesant stopped 40-year-old Coleman Reader just before 3 a.m. Sunday after witnessing him beat the fare, according to officials.

Following a warrant check, Sgt. Steven Rosado and Officer Nicholas Zummo found that Reader was a repeat offender, having skipped out on paying for rides before, an NYPD spokesman said.

A search revealed that Reader was concealing a loaded Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolver in his “crotch area,” according to police.

Reader, of the Bronx, was arraigned on charges of theft of services, trespassing and criminal possession of a weapon, according to court documents.

He is being held on $7,500 bail or bond as of Monday afternoon and is due back in court on Friday.
