HUDSON YARDS — The brand new 7 train subway station at 34th Street - Hudson Yards is set to open this Sunday, making it the first new station to open since 1989.

To mark the historic occasion, the Hudson Yards Hell's Kitchen Alliance is throwing a party with food and festivities in the shiny new Hudson Park between 33th and 36th Streets and Tenth and Eleventh avenues.

The southern bit of the park surrounds the subway new station's entrances.

From 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., bring the family out to celebrate the subway with live music, face painting, a bouncy castle and over-sized games like Tic Tac Toe, Jenga and Connect 4.

The much-anticipated opening was pushed back repeatedly since December of 2013, when construction of the actual track extension was complete.

The MTA had said the station was not ready to open then because of "testing of elevators and escalators and other systems."
