QUEENS — A TSA worker at JFK Airport was arrested and charged in the theft of a passenger's $7,500 wristwatch, according to the Queens District Attorney's office.

Margo Louree-Grant, 41, swiped the Diamond Master brand watch on Aug. 26 while the victim was going through security at Terminal 7, Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo said in an email.

The passenger put the watch in a plastic bin to go through an x-ray machine, according to a criminal complaint.

When he left the screening area without the watch, Louree-Grant nabbed the accessory and took it into a bathroom, according to prosecutors.

She then returned to the security checkpoint and saw other agents looking for the watch, got nervous and went back into the bathroom and destroyed the watch, Louree-Grant told police.

During a Sept. 2 interview with Port Authority investigators, Louree-Grant admitted to snatching the watch and then destroying it.

She was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and official misconduct.

Louree-Grant was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Sept. 3 and released without bail.

She is due back in court on Sept. 24.

There was no immediate information on her defense attorney.
