
CHELSEA — An enraged man punched a stranger in the head and threatened him with a razor blade in front of the High Line Ballroom, police said.
“I’m gonna cut you,” Can Yilmaz, 29, warned the 54-year-old victim of the crime, police said. They recovered the knife at the scene, police said.
Police arrested the suspect soon after the attack, which took place at 431 West 16th Street at 2:30 a.m., and charged him with assault menacing and weapon possession, according to court records.
He was released without bail and is due back in court on Oct. 28, records show.
His lawyer could not be reached for immediate comment.
A worker at the High Line Ballroom declined to comment on the incident and a manager could not be reached for immediate comment.
