This free annual festival offers a diverse dance experience. Professional dance companies will present two distinct site-specific programs that invite the audience to roam around the park and dance along. It runs Friday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., Saturday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and in two sessions Sunday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m..
Friday, September 4
► Roosevelt Avenue Midnight Retirement Crawl
Where: Las Maravillas Restaurant, 37-64 90th St, Jackson Heights
When: Friday, Sept. 4, 8:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Food guide Jeff Orlick, who has boosted local vendors and businesses with his tours of Roosevelt Avenue, is retiring from the game. But before he goes, he’s hosting one last crawl, starting at Las Maravillas Restaurant where he’ll hand out maps of his personal street carts.
Crawlers can get a map in exchange for a cash bill of any denomination and visit all of his spots. Or they can hang out at Las Maravillas for Mexican food and Karaoke.
The afterparty will be held at Little Tibet, at 72-19 Roosevelt Ave.

Where: Beach 59th Street, Edgemere, Queens
Description: Fish are your friends! Watch this film about a timid clownfish who travels to rescue his son, Nemo, who’s been captured and is in Sydney, Australia. Popcorn will be provided, and bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the movie. Showtime is at dusk, but you can claim a spot from 8 p.m.
Saturday, September 5
► Queens International Night Market
Where: 90-02 168th St., Jamaica
The Queens Night Market, which launched earlier this year at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, debuts Saturday in downtown Jamaica. More than 100 vendors will offer food and crafts from around the world. It runs from 6 p.m. until midnight.
Where: Alley Pond Park, 76th Avenue and Springfield Boulevard, Bayside
Take advantage of the long weekend before returning to school and enjoy an afternoon of activities including games, rides, crafts, and giveaways. It runs from noon until 3 p.m.
Where: Beach 116th Street and the ocean, Rockaway Park
Here’s your chance to stargaze and check out everything above us with the Parks Department’s Urban Park Rangers. They’ll guide amateur astronomers through the solar system (or what can be seen from the shores of Rockaway Beach) with telescopes and binoculars, while discussing the science and folklore of the universe. The program runs from 8 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
► Locals' Dance Party at Rockaway Beach Surf Club
Where: Rockaway Beach Surf Club, 302 Beach 87th St., Rockaway Beach
Surf schools Locals are hosting an end-of-summer dance party with Salvator Carlino behind the DJ booth and tacos from Tacoway Beach. Spread the word and celebrate summer — kooks welcome, they say. It starts at 4 p.m.
► Rockaway Beach Jazz Festival
Where: Beach 97th Street concessions, Rockaway Beach
The annual jazz fest moves closer to the beach this year, with three diverse bands from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Alto sax player Lisa Parrott stars off the show, then a reggae and ska band G.R.A.S.S. performs. The show ends with Flying Home, who will play classic swing hits from the 30s, 40s and 50s. Check out the free show under the stars and dance!
Sunday, Sept. 6
Where: Flushing Town Hall, 137-35 Northern Blvd., Flushing
Artists of any discipline are invited to present their work for a 10 minute discussion. Attendees can later network over cookies and coffee. This free event is open to anyone curious about art and artists, and runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
