CHELSEA — A pair of men offered to drive a drunk stranger to an after-party last week but ended up robbing him instead, police said.

The suspects picked up the man, who was drunk when he reported the incident, at Ninth Avenue and 14th Street at around 4 a.m. on Aug. 30, police said. Then they drove him in a Jeep to an ATM on Second Avenue, police said.

Soon after, the men searched the 38-year-old victim’s pockets and snatched his credit cards and $500 cash, police said.

The victim got out of the car and the thieves drove off, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Thursday afternoon, police said.
