QUEENS — A new upscale condo, currently under construction in Rego Park, will boast a gym, rooftop garden and bicycle room, the developer said.

The project is just the latest in a neighborhood that has recently experienced an infusion of luxury buildings.

The seven-story building, at 65-38 Austin St., is slated to be completed sometime next year, according to the developer, Yin Hu.

Hu said it’s too early to talk about prices, but he added that the building will feature a number of high-end amenities, such as a rooftop garden.

The 65-unit building will offer five three-bedroom apartment. There will also be about 30 one-bedroom units, and roughly the same number of two-bedrooms, Hu said.

One-bedrooms will be approximately 650 square feet, while two-bedroom units will be between 850 and 900 square feet, Hu said.

The building will also feature an indoor parking garage with space for 55 cars, Hu said.

The developer said he chose Rego Park for the project because it’s “a great area.”

“It has good schools, good transportation and it’s very quiet,” he said.

In recent years, the neighborhood, known for its affordable prices, has been attracting new, high-end developments — changing the face of Rego Park, which for decades has been dominated by red brick co-ops and single-family homes.

One of the newest developments in the neighborhood — The Alexander, a 24-story rental building constructed by Vornado Realty Trust above the Rego Center Mall — has just begun renting apartments.
