QUEENS — Police are looking for a man who they say punched his ex-girlfriend in the face while she had their baby strapped to a harness on her chest during an argument on a train, police said.

The incident took place on a Manhattan bound E train between the Sutphin Boulevard-Archer Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue subway stations at about 7:45 p.m. on Monday, authorities said.

The two got into a argument, and when the woman who was carrying their 2-month-old baby was trying to walk away, her ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old Marqual Ward, punched her in the face multiple times, officials said.

It was not immediately clear what the two were fighting about.

The woman suffered substantial pain and bruising, officials said.

Police described Ward as standing 5-foot-5 and weighing 170 pounds. He has brown eyes, long blonde dreadlocks and tattoos of a tear drop and a red star on his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
