GREENWICH VILLAGE — Police are looking for a man who robbed an HSBC bank on Sixth Avenue Wednesday afternoon, the NYPD said.

Police said the man went into the HSBC at 354 Sixth Ave. about 1:15 p.m. and passed a bank teller a note demanding money.

The man was not armed, according to the NYPD, but police were unable to provide specifics on the content of the note.

The teller cooperated and passed the man $6,800, police said, before he fled.

Police described the suspect as a bald man in his 30s, standing over 6 feet tall with a muscular build. The man was clean-shaven and wearing a white T-shirt, black jogging pants with white stripes, white sneakers and dark sunglasses, and carrying a black backpack, police said.

The NYPD asks that anyone with information regarding the pictured suspect call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. All calls are confidential.
