SUNNYSIDE — Police released a sketch of the suspect wanted for tossing an acid-like liquid into a woman's face in Queens last week, sending the victim to the hospital with third-degree burns.

The man approached the 59-year-old woman as she was walking to her car in front of 33-02 Skillman Ave. on Wednesday around 5:20 p.m. and called to her from behind.

When she turned around, the suspect, who did not know the victim, splashed the liquid into her face, according to police. She was taken to Cornell Hospital where she was treated for third-degree burns and released, police said.

The man is roughly 30 years old and 5-foot-8, with black hair, according to the NYPD. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
