CHINATOWN — A foot doctor was injured by a strip of spikes that fell off a building and hit her on the head Monday afternoon, officials and colleagues said.
The woman, who co-workers identified as Dr. Christina E. Tsim, was struck outside 6 Bowery, near Doyers Street, about 1:10 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said.
"It came from up there," said Wei Wan Zhan, pointing to the top of 6 Bowery.
"It hit her in the forehead," the curbside sock merchant said.
Tsim, who runs a podiatry practice nearby, was taken to Lower Manhattan Hospital and treated for injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, fire officials said.
Tsim's assistant visited the scene, retrieved the debris — which appeared to be a piece of metal meant to deter birds from sitting on buildings — and brought it back to her office, the colleague said.
