CHELSEA — A stranger ran up to a 25-year-old woman near the intersection of 10th Avenue and West 28th Street and screamed “You are a whore” before punching her in the face, police said.

Police arrested 38-year-old Stanley Desir a few blocks from the scene of the crime, which happened at 3 a.m. on Aug. 14. He was charged with assault and slapped with a desk appearance ticket, police said.

The woman suffered bruising and swelling, police said.

Desir is due back in court on Oct. 5, police said. He could not be reached for comment.

Other notable crimes in the 10th Precinct include:

She sent texts to the 24-year-old victim that read, “That’s what you get, I’m going to f--- you up,” according to police. The incident happened on Aug. 15 around noon, police said. No arrests had been made as of Friday.

►A woman bumped into a 28-year-old man standing in front of the Dream Hotel on the morning of Aug. 16 around 4 a.m, then grabbed his phone and wallet out of his hand, along with a $2,500 Cartier watch, police said. She then fled on 16th Street, police said.

Three men had displayed what looked like a gun and taken the 28-year-old's money, iPad and iPhone, prosecutors said. Two suspects were captured and prosecutors charged Rarone Lee, 19, with robbery.
