UPPER WEST SIDE — One of the neighborhood's most popular thoroughfares needs its own slogan, insists a local business group.

The Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District said it is soliciting suggestions for a catchphrase for the avenue.

The BID, which works on quality-of-life issues and helps promote local businesses, is asking residents to email their submissions to info@columbusavenuebid.org, with the subject line “Columbus Avenue slogan.”

"We’d like to find one that speaks to the things that make Columbus Avenue an exceptional place to shop, dine, and unwind: our boutique shops, vibrant and diverse dining, and beautiful parks and public spaces," the BID stated in an August newsletter.

The group shared a smattering of slogan submissions so far:

► Succumb to Columbus Avenue's Charms: Enjoy shopping, dining, walking & neighborhooding

► Columbus Avenue: Explore & Discover

► Discover the New World on Columbus

Once a critical mass of slogans has been sent in, the BID will review them and decide, a spokesman said.
