
EAST HARLEM — A man robbed a Third Avenue bank last week, threatening the teller with a note that claimed he was armed with a bomb and a knife, police said.
The suspect approached the bank teller inside a Chase Bank at 1924 Third Ave. near East 106th Street roughly 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 14 and passed the demand note, police said.
The teller handed the robber $500 and he fled on 106th street toward Second Avenue, authorities said.
Chase Bank declined to comment.
Surveillance images released by police depict the suspect wearing a red and black striped shirt and a baseball cap.
