CHELSEA — The section of the High Line that snakes from West 30th Street and 11 Avenue west then north to 34th Street will be closed until Sept. 22, park officials said.

Workers will be doing maintenance on the Interim Walkway in that section, Ashley Tickle, a spokeswoman for Friends of the High Line said.

The walkway has to be reinforced with a sand and epoxy-based grout to strengthen it because of heavy foot traffic in that section, she said.

That section of the park will reopen on Sept. 22 along with a sound art installation by the artist Kevin Beasley for three consecutive nights that week.

Performances will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday Sept 22, Wednesday Sept, 23, and Thursday Sept 24. For more information, visit the High Line website.
