Bushwick Man Stabbed to Death During Dispute, Police Say

By Serena Dai | August 17, 2015 2:09pm

BROOKLYN — A Bushwick man was stabbed to death during a dispute over the weekend, the NYPD said.

Michael Godoy, 23, was stabbed in the chest Sunday just after 3 a.m. in the basement of a building near Weirfield Street and Knickerbocker Ave., police said.

He was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. It's unclear what sparked the dispute, but the incident reportedly occurred during a party.

Many of Godoy's friends took to social media over the weekend to remember him.

"It's so many dudes out here doing dirt and [he] really wasn't one of them," one woman said.
