LOWER EAST SIDE — An attacker punched a 14-year-old girl in the head after pulling her down to the ground by her hair, police said.

Police said the teen was walking with her mother at around 8:45 p.m. on July 31 when a group of about eight people approached them in front 282 East Broadway.

One of the group members confronted the 14-year-old, asking her if her friends tried to jump another individual, police said. The suspect then grabbed her hair and pulled her to the ground before punching her in the head, according to the NYPD.

Meanwhile, Ieshia Sullivan, 18, attempted to steal the teen’s cellphone, police said. However, the teen resisted and Sullivan slapped the victim’s 39-year-old mother, police said. Sullivan also punched the 14-year-old in the chest, according to a criminal complaint from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

The 14-year-old complained of a headache, police said, but refused medical attention.

Sullivan was charged with assault, attempted assault and harassment, according to the complaint. She was released of her own recognizance. The other suspect was not apprehended, police said.

Sullivan’s attorney did not immediately return a request for comment.
