YORKVILLE — A family with a long history in the pizza business is opening a new “Latin infusion” venture next door to their restaurant, Salvo’s Pizza Bar.

The Inzerillo brothers, Sal, Rosario and Joe, who own and run the eatery, are teaming up with their Peruvian chef Antonio Acuna to start up Olá Vivabar, at 453 E. 78th St., which will incorporate dishes from Mexico, Peru, Guatemala and El Salvador.

The menu is still in the works, but Sal Inzerillo expects to include platos, grilled octopus, plantain chips and more.

“This is cuisine we’ve never touched upon … we’re a group of pizza men,” he said, explaining his father, Rosario, made pizzas for years before he retired in 2004. “It will be an adventure.”

Inzerillo said he and his brothers are planning to turn the small, 450-square-foot space into a rustic eatery with exposed brick and mirrors.

The Inzerillos, who hope to serve margaritas and Latin beer on tap, received approval for their liquor license application from Community Board 8's street life committee on Tuesday. It still needs approval from the full board and the State Liquor Authority.

If everything goes to plan, Olá will open on Oct. 1, two days before Inzerillo’s birthday, he said.

The eatery is expected to be open from 4 to 11 p.m. during the week and 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
