THE BRONX — A trio of thieves forced their way into a Riverdale apartment, locked a home-health aide in a closet and stole $50,000 from the 68-year-old woman who lived there, police said.
They knocked on the door about 11 a.m. on July 28 and the tenant's aide, a 22-year-old woman, answered, NYPD officials said.
The thieves then forced their way in and shoved the aide into a closet, locking the door, police said.
They then assaulted the tenant, demanded she open her safe and took the $50,000 from inside when she did, police said.
The 69-year-old woman refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
The thieves had not been arrested as of Wednesday morning, police said.
