BROOKLYN — A chain-snatching thief grabbed necklaces from three women in Brooklyn subway stations during the morning rush hour last month, according to police.

The suspect yanked the chains from the victims during separate incidents that took place between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on the A and J trains, officials said.

On July 22 around 8:18 a.m., a man sat next to a 26-year-old woman on the J train platform at Alabama Avenue in East New York.

The suspect allegedly snatched a chain from around the victim’s neck and fled the station, according to police.

The same man approached a 20-year-old woman at the Chauncey Street station on the Bed-Stuy/Bushwick border around 9:25 a.m. on July 26, officials said.

He allegedly removed her necklace and left the scene.

On July 31, a 41-year-old woman was on the A train at Utica Avenue around 9:55 a.m. when the suspect grabbed her chain and exited the car as the doors opened, police said.

Officials describe the suspect as 6 feet tall, in his 20s and weighing 160 pounds.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
