MEATPACKING DISTRICT — Restoration Hardware is expanding its forthcoming presence in the Meatpacking District with a new lease for a 25,000-square-foot space on Gansevoort Street, city records show.

The building at 55 Gansevoort St. is just a block over from the space it leased on Ninth Avenue a year ago, where longtime neighborhood favorite Pastis once stood.

That space at 9-19 Ninth Ave. is almost triple the size of the new site. The company reportedly plans to open a flagship store there.

City records show Restoration Hardware signed a 15-year lease for 55 Gansevoort St., and Crain's New York reported that the company plans to open a 14-room hotel there, decked out with all of their own furnishings.

It will be the company's first hotel. There will also be a restaurant on the ground floor, according to Crain's.

The hotel would be just steps away from the High Line and across the street from Gansevoort Market, a luxury food hall that opened last year and is packed with pricey food stalls repping favorites from across the city, from Luzzo's pizza to a Tacombi taco truck.

Restoration Hardware did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
