BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Bed-Stuy’s Restoration Corporation is bringing back its summer series of free jazz this month with weekly outdoor concerts at the West Plaza.

The organization teams up once again with the Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium, a group that works to make jazz and other African-American expressions in dance, theater and arts accessible to local communities.

The series kicks off on Aug. 4 with musician Eric Wyatt. The Brooklyn-based saxophone player will perform selections from his latest recording, “Borough of Kings,” from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The tunes continue with a variety of artists every Tuesday through the end of August.

“Evening Jazz” is part of Restoration’s Center for Arts & Culture summer program, which includes outdoor music sets from guest DJs and poets starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, along with weekly film screenings and fitness classes.

Concerts will be held at the West Plaza, 1368 Fulton St., outside Applebee's Neighborhood Bar and Grill. For more information, visit the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation website.
