LOWER MANHATTAN — If you've ever wanted to go down a giant, inflatable water slide, on the streets of Lower Manhattan — you've got two more chances.
A 270-foot water slide is taking over Foley Square, as a splashy new feature of the Department of Transportation's annual Summer Streets program.

The slide made its debut on Aug. 1, the first of three days for the Summer Streets program, which closes Park Avenue and Lafayette Street to vehicle traffic from 72nd Street to the Brooklyn Bridge — allowing pedestrians to roam free, with some fun activities along the car-free route.
To cool off with a trip down the massive, green slide on Summer Streets next two dates, Aug. 8 and Aug. 15, you'll need to sign-up for a slot.
Registration is now open for the Aug. 8 ride, head here to get your spot. Registration opens on Aug. 10 for the Aug. 15 event. There's no registration on site, officials said, and spots fill up quickly. Catch a ride from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Summer Streets program, now in eighth year, also offers a host of activities at four other "rest stops" along the route.
Not too far from the water slide, on Leonard Street between Lafayette and Centre streets, you'll find another, less wet adventure: a 165-foot long, 30-foot high zipline.
Other activities include fitness classes, soccer games, bike repair and an art walk.
Officials said more than 300,000 people participated in programming last year.
