
PARK SLOPE — A Brooklyn Hospital Center doctor had his new Mercedes-Benz, stethoscope and prescription pad stolen while he was inside the Shake Shake across from the Barclays Center, according to a police report.
The 37-year-old parked his 2015 Mercedes C300 on Fifth Avenue near Flatbush at 11:45 a.m. on July 23 and returned to find his car gone. The sedan contained several valuables including a $2,000 Prada messenger bag, an $800 Montblanc pen and a Chicco booster seat.
Other notable crimes in this week's blotter at the 78th Precinct include the following, with details drawn from police reports:
► A jewelry box containing $21,800 in rings, necklaces and earrings was stolen from an apartment on First Street near Prospect Park West while the tenant was out of town for a few days, sometime between July 19 and July 22.
► A man stole 19 pairs of Nike shorts and three Nike shirts on July 20 at 1:35 p.m. at the Foot Locker store on Fifth Avenue and 14th Street after telling the manager he wanted to try on some shoes. The merchandise was valued at $1,420.
► A man returned to his apartment after a day at work on July 21 at 10:15 p.m. and found that $14,075 in jewelry had been stolen, including gold and ruby cuff links, a gold and diamond tie pin and two gold pocket watches.
► A 34-year-old woman had her wallet stolen out of her stroller on Berkeley Place near Fifth Avenue after she walked away to buy ice cream on July 23 at 2 p.m.
