QUEENS — A man caught urinating in a South Jamaica street was arrested after police discovered a loaded handgun and 5 ounces of marijuana on him, the NYPD said.
Three plainclothes police officers were canvassing the area around 1:30 a.m. Saturday looking for a driver who had fled a traffic stop earlier that night when they saw Marvin Robbins, 23, of South Jamaica, urinating between two cars parked on 231st Street, near South Conduit Avenue, about two blocks from where he lives, authorities said.
One of the officers approached Robbins and told him not to move.
As the man turned around, the officer noticed a bulge around his waistband area and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, police said.
Robbins was also found to be carrying about five ounces of marijuana, according to the NYPD.
He was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of marijuana and urinating in public, authorities said.
