LOWER EAST SIDE — Police released a sketch of a man they say punched a woman in the face in a possible anti-Muslim hate crime earlier this month.

Police said the attack — which sent the 19-year-old victim to Beth Israel Medical Center with a fractured jaw — occurred at about 10:40 p.m. on July 11 after the suspect heard the woman speaking in a foreign language in front of 109 East Broadway, near Pike Street.

He accused her of speaking negatively about him and the two got into an argument, with the man making anti-Muslim comments, an NYPD spokesman said.

Police said the suspect was between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10 and weighed between 150 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark colored, short-sleeve T-shirt, dark blue jeans, dark sneakers and a dark colored hat with a Nike symbol.
