Weekend Service Changes to Hit 17 Subway Lines

 The 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, A, C, D, E, F, J, L, M, N, Q and R lines will all be affected by service changes this weekend.

MIDTOWN — The humidity levels are expected to remain relatively low this weekend. Take advantage of the nice walking weather, as 17 subway lines are in store for service changes Friday night through early Monday morning.

1 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between 14th Street and South Ferry from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Riders can take a 2 or 3 train and free shuttle bus service between Chambers Street and South Ferry will be provided.

Uptown and downtown trains will also skip 18th, 23rd and 28th streets during the day and evening hours of Saturday and Sunday.

Uptown trains will run express from 96th to 145th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

2 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between East 180th Street and 3rd Avenue-149th Street from 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Shuttle buses will make all local stops.

An express shuttle bus will also run between East 180th Street and 3rd Avenue-149th Street, making a stop at the Hunts Point Avenue 6 train station.

Trains will run local between Chambers Street and 34th Street-Penn Station from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

3 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Free shuttle bus service will be provided.

Trains will run local in both directions between Chambers Street and 34th Street-Penn Station from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

Trains are skipping Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until late September 2015. Free shuttle bus service will be provided.

4 Line: Downtown trains will run express from 125th Street to 42nd Street-Grand Central from 10:45 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Service will be suspended in both directions between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service.

Trains are skipping Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until late September.

Downtown trains are skipping 103rd Street at all times until September.

5 Line: Service will be suspended from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Riders can take the 2, 4 or 6 lines or free shuttle buses, which will run along two routes:

  • Shuttle buses will make local stops between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street.
  • Limited shuttle buses will run express between Dyre Avenue and 3rd Avenue-149th Street, stopping at the Hunts Point Avenue 6 train station.

6 Line: Downtown trains will run express from 125th Street to Grand Central-42nd Street from 10:45 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Pelham Bay Park to Parkchester from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Downtown trains are skipping 103rd Street at all times until September.

A line: Uptown trains will be rerouted over the F line from Jay Street-MetroTech to West 4th Street and then run local to 59th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Uptown trains will run express from 59th Street to 125th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Service will be suspended between Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Manhattan-bound trains will also skip 88th Street.

Free shuttle bus service will run between 80th Street and Lefferts Boulevard.

Manhattan-bound trains are skipping Rockaway Boulevard at all times until the fall.

For service to the station, take a Manhattan-bound train to 88th Street and transfer to a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound train.

For service from the station, take a Far Rockaway-bound train to Aqueduct-North Conduit Avenue or a Lefferts Boulevard-bound train to 104th Street and transfer to a Manhattan-bound train.

C Line: Uptown trains will run express form 59th Street to 125th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Uptown trains will also be rerouted over the F line from Jay Street-MetroTech to West 4th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

E Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Queens Plaza from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Manhattan-bound trains will skip 75th Avenue and Briarwood from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

D Line: Downtown trains will run local from 145th Street to 59th Street from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Line: Brooklyn-bound trains will skip Sutphin Boulevard, Briarwood and 75th Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Queens-bound trains will skip Ditmas Avenue at all times until the fall.

For service to the station, riders can take a Queens-bound train to Church Avenue and transfer to a Coney Island-bound train.

For service from the station, riders can take a Coney Island-bound train to 18th Avenue and transfer to a Queens-bound train.

Queens-bound trains are also skipping Avenue X at all times until Winter 2015.

For service to the station, riders can take a Queens-bound train to Avenue U and transfer to a Coney Island-bound train.

For service from this station, riders can take a Coney Island-bound train to Neptune Avenue and transfer to a Queens-bound train.

M Line: Queens-bound trains will run express from Marcy Avenue to Myrtle Avenue from 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 8:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

J Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Myrtle Avenue to Marcy Avenue from 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 8:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

L Line: Service will operate in two sections, between 8th Avenue and Broadway Junction and every 24 minutes between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

N Line: Service will be rerouted over the D line in both directions between Coney Island and 36th Street in Brooklyn from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Free shuttle buses and R trains will provide alternate service.

Queens-bound trains will skip 49th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Q Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park from 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Queens-bound trains will skip 49th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

R Line: Brooklyn-bound trains will run express from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Queens Plaza from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

Queens-bound trains will skip 49th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

36 Street-bound shuttle trains will stop at 53rd Street and 45th Street late nights early Saturday through early Monday morning.
