VIDEO: Cook Closing Up Shop Robbed at Gunpoint for Gold Chain, Police Say

MOTT HAVEN — A group of three men attacked a cook closing up a South Bronx restaurant and snatched his chain from right off of his neck, according to the NYPD.

The suspects, one of whom was carrying a gun, approached the victim in front of Villa Tapia at 245 Brook Ave. in the 40th Precinct around 2:20 a.m. on June 22, police said.

One of the suspects grabbed the victim's 18-carat gold chain from his neck and fled south on Brook Avenue, police said. The chain was from the Dominican Republic where the victim hails from.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.

Video shows the armed suspect walking along the sidewalk with his gun drawn.
