Teen Fatally Stabbed Man Who Sold Him Bad Cellphone, Police Say

THE BRONX — A man was stabbed to death Tuesday in the Fordham neighborhood by a teen he'd just sold a broken phone, police said.

The teen, Dalen Joseph, 17, was arrested at the scene on charges of murder, manslaughter and weapon possession, NYPD officials said.

Joseph flew into a rage when he bought a phone from the 32-year-old man that turned out not to work and attacked him near East Fordham Road and Jerome Avenue at 8:52 p.m., police said.

Joseph stabbed the victim, whose name was not immediately released, in his torso and legs, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital, police said.

Joseph, of Baychester, was arrested at the scene shortly afterwards, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
