BATTERY PARK CITY — Some bluesy, rootsy music is making its way to the Lower Manhattan waterfront this week.

The Lowdown Hudson Music Fest is bringing free, outdoor concerts to Battery Park City's Brookfield Plaza on July 14 and July 15.

This year, performers include roots-rock and reggae-inflected band O.A.R, and Americana singer-songwriter Ryan Bingham on July 14. The following night, improvisational rock-gospel group The Word performs, along with blues band the Wood Brothers, a group founded by a member of jazz trio Medeski Martin & Wood.

The is the fifth year the festival has returned to the riverside plaza. It was, until this year, known as the Lowdown Hudson Blues Festival.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the shows begin at 6 p.m at 230 Vesey St. For more information, head to the festival's website.
