Nine Injured in Car Crash On Midtown Queens Expressway

QUEENS —Nine people were injured in a multiple-car crash on the Queens Midtown Expressway near 69th Street Friday afternoon, fire officials said.

Emergency workers responded to a call for help at 3:44 p.m., the FDNY said.

Two people with minor injuries were taken to Elmhurst Hospital and seven other people refused medical attention, fire officials said. 

Traffic through the Midtown Queens Tunnel was not affected, a spokeswoman from the Office of Emergency Management.

It was not immediately clear what caused the accident or how many vehicles were involved.

The NYPD did not immediately have information about the collision.
