STATEN ISLAND — Two brothers were arrested a day apart for separate motor vehicle incidents, prosecutors said.

Devon Wilson, 23, and his brother Leon Wilson, 25, were arrested last week for separate incidents involving cars around Staten Island, prosecutors said.

On Tuesday, at about 7:30 p.m., Devon Wilson was in the back seat of car that was pulled over by police near the intersection of Clove Road and Narrows Road North, prosecutors said.

Devon Wilson got out of the vehicle, ran into the street, jumped a fence, ran across the Staten Island Expressway, then tried to carjack two vehicles stopped at a red light, prosecutors said.

Police arrested Devon Wilson at the scene, and found him carrying a counterfeit $100 bill and a debit card with someone else's name on it, prosecutors said.

Devon Wilson was charged with attempted robbery, attempted grand larceny, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

The driver, Oluwartimi Oredugba, 20, was charged with driving without a license, prosecutors said.

The next day, Leon Wilson was arrested for a June 16 incident where he reversed his vehicle and hit two police officers while trying to flee a traffic stop, prosecutors said.

His bail was set at $25,000 and he's due back in court on Friday, according to online court records.

Leon Wilson was charged with assault, reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of an incident, the DA said.

Their lawyer, Ronald Gregg, declined to comment.
