CLIFTON —  A Wu-Tang Clan affiliate and son of Ghostface Killah was arrested and charged with gun possession last week, prosecutors said.

Police saw Dennis Ames, 27, who raps under the name Sun God, with a loaded .38-caliber gun inside a Park Hill Avenue apartment building on Friday at about 5 a.m., prosecutors said.

When police tried to stop Ames, he allegedly ditched the gun and attempted to flee from officers, prosecutors said. They eventually caught up with him and arrested him near the intersection of Targee Street and Vanderbilt Avenue.

Police also saw him in the same building in 2013 with a gun, which he ditched and fled without getting arrested, and DNA tests later linked the firearm to Ames, a law enforcement source said.

The arrest was first reported by the Staten Island Advance.

A judge issued a search warrant for Ames' home where police found his relative, Willie Ames, 45, along with ammunition and marijuana in a bedroom, prosecutors said.

Dennis Ames was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, assault, unlawful possession of a pistol/revolver ammunition, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of marijuana and obstruction of governmental administration, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

His bail was set at $150,000 and he's due back in court on Wednesday, according to online court records.

His lawyer did not immediately respond to request for comments.

Willie Ames was charged with unlawful possession of a pistol/revolver ammunition and unlawful possession of marijuana, the DA said. He was released without bail and is due back in court on Sept. 10, according to online court records.
