UPPER EAST SIDE — French restaurateur and chef Florian Hugo will open a fine dining restaurant in the former Brazilian Circus space later this year.

The new brasserie, Maison Hugo, is slated to open late this summer at 132 E. 61st St., between Park and Lexington avenues.

Before Maison Hugo, he opened Brasserie Cognac in Midtown and Cognac East on the Upper East Side with the Serafina Group.

The restaurant will be open from 9 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, and from 9 to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sundays, the restaurant will open at 10 a.m. and close at midnight.

Community Board 8's street life committee voted this week to approve Hugo's liquor license application, which will go before the full board July 15, and then to the New York State Liquor Authority for final approval.
