MELROSE — A Bronx thief wearing a bag decided not to wait until the borough's new wellness center opened before stealing from it.
On June 14 at about 10:30 a.m., a man with a paper bag over his head walked into the construction site at 3144 3rd Ave., took a 55-inch television and fled, according to police.
The building used to be a furniture store but is now being renovated and transformed into a BOOM!Health wellness center that will include an LGBT health center run by Callen-Lorde on the first floor.
Police do not believe the suspect was working at the construction site but expect to identify him very soon.
