THE BRONX — A man intentionally rear-ended an NYPD officer who was driving a confiscated ATV, knocking him to the ground, cutting both his arms and hurting his back in Hunts Point Saturday, police said.

The suspect, who police identified as George Fabian, 44, escaped and had not been arrested as of Monday morning, NYPD officials said.

The officer, whose name and age were not immediately released, had just confiscated the ATV and was driving it back to the 41st Precinct stationhouse about 6:43 p.m. when Fabian sped into him outside 672 Hunts Point Ave. and knocked him to the ground before racing away, police said.

The officer suffered cuts to both arms and injuries to his neck and back, police said. He was treated and released from Jacobi hospital, police said.

Fabian, whom the officer recognized, is 6-foot-2 with brown eyes, police said. He didn't have any hair on his head, but had a beard and wore a red T-shirt, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
