BUSHWICK — A 46-year-old woman killed in a hit-and-run by a private sanitation truck in Brooklyn Thursday night, police said.

Alberta Bagu, who lived in Bushwick, was crossing Broadway between Ditmars Street and Willoughby Avenue on the border of her neighborhood and Bed-Stuy around 10:30 p.m. when she was hit, authorities said.

The truck, which was traveling south on Broadway, struck the victim mid-block, according to police. The driver did not remain at the scene and no further description was available.

Bagu was critically injured and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No arrests have been made as of Friday morning and the investigation is ongoing.
