Ex-NYPD Officer Crashes Motorcycle and Gets Caught With Drugs, Police Say

STATEN ISLAND — An NYPD officer who crashed her motorcycle Tuesday resigned after she was found carrying drugs and a hypodermic needle, police said.

Stacey Staniland, 29, was worked out of the 122 Precinct, was arrested on Tuesday at about 10:57 p.m. in Staten Island after she smashed into two parked cars, police said.

When officers arrested her, they found drugs and a hypodermic needle on her, police said.

Police could not say what street Staniland crashed on or what drugs she had.

She was also arrested in December after she allegedly broke into her boyfriend's mother's home and stole jewelry and later pawned it.

Staniland was charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument, criminal possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and no registered plates, police said. She resigned from her job after her latest arrest, police said.
