GREENWICH VILLAGE — A man was stabbed in the face at Le Souk on LaGuardia Place, in an attempt to permanently disfigure the victim, police said.

Police said a 41-year-old man stabbed another 41-year-old man in the face with a sharp object inside the restaurant a little before 3 a.m. on June 28.

The victim was left with multiple gashes in his face and required more than 50 stitches, police said.

It was not immediately clear what the sharp object was.

Police said the alleged attacker turned on a second victim as well, stabbing a 30-year-old man in his right hand.

The second victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital with a small cut and bruising, police said.

The alleged attacker was arrested and charged with two counts of felony assault.

He was held overnight on $30,000 bail, then released when he posted bond, according to court records.

He is due back in court on July 2.

His attorney declined to comment. An employee at Le Souk said she did not have information on the incident, and a manager was not immediately available.
