MANHATTAN — A passenger in a car suspected of blowing through several red lights was killed in an early morning car accident in Washington Heights and the driver was arrested, according to the NYPD.

The female driver ran several red lights while traveling south on Amsterdam Avenue in a Honda Accord and then struck a Chevrolet Impala traveling west on 157th Street at about 4:26 a.m. Monday, police and sources said.

The Honda then struck an unoccupied vehicle parked on Amsterdam Avenue.

Responders found the 41-year-old passenger unconscious and unresponsive in the Honda.

She was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

The male driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured.

Charges against the driver are pending, an NYPD spokesman said.

The NYPD would not say if the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
